Amid DSL And Cable Wrangling, Wireless Broadband Waits In The Wings

As the 3G vs. WiFi argument continues unabated, it seems that some carriers are jumping back into the fixed-wireless broadband world again – so we can look forward to a third “challenger” in the debate. A few years ago it seemed like all the major telecom players were experimenting with fixed-wireless – but they all gave it up pretty quickly after they realized it was more difficult than they thought. While some still think that it will be limited to a niche market, others are betting that fixed-wireless offerings can overcome their early stumbles and take on cable and DSL offerings.
