Internet Adoption Broker Arrested

from the that-took-a-while... dept

Some of you may remember the “internet adoption case” that was big news two years ago. In it, a set of twins had been adopted by a couple in California, but the birth mother came by to see the kids one last time, swiped them, and then “sold” them to another set of foster parents. Well, just now, the FBI has stepped in and arrested the internet adoption broker for fraud, as they discovered that for the past five years she’s been going around defrauding prospective foster parents left and right without ever actually giving kids up for adoption. What I want to know is how come no one checked into this woman two years ago when the case was big news and noticed the fraud then?
