Device Acts As Heart's Security System

from the sounds-useful dept

dsg writes in with a link to a story about new trials underway of a heart monitoring device that sends information about the patient’s heart over the phone to his or her doctor, lessening the need for regular doctor visits. The patient just has to wave a wand across their chest, and then dial a phone number to transmit the info. Of course, I’m sure that (eventually) such devices will simply look for the nearest/fastest/best wireless connection and transmit the data that way.
