Vaporware 2002: Tech Up In Smoke?

from the just-keep-waiting dept

Wired News shows up today with their popular annual vaporware list of products that were expected in 2002, but never arrived. Most of those on the list were games, though, there were two interesting developments. First, is that three of the products on this year’s list were also on last year’s list. It seems that companies are feeling even less pressure than ever before to ship something on time. The second development is that Wired News claims that two-thirds of the “nominations” they received were actually spam messages. At first, I thought this meant that people were complaining that the products advertised in spam were vaporware products they actually wanted, but now I’m realizing they probably just mean that spammers got ahold of the vaporware nominations email address.
