Vodafone's Eyes on Hutchison 3G
Vodafone Australia is having such a hard time with their 3G plans they are looking to buy 3G capacity from global competitor Hutchison 3G. The two operators already have a 2.5G roaming agreement for H3G’s customers. Vodafone enen hinted that should the opportunity arise they might be interested in an outright acquisition. While it would be interesting to think H3G’s global plan all along has been to build up its 3G network to eventually sell off to established players, its more likely such deals would occur only where they were more profitable than competing head-on.
