Dartmouth Swimteam Available On eBay

from the publicity-stunts dept

The swimteam at Dartmouth is apparently at risk of being cut due to budget constraints. So, what does any good college sports team do when it needs additional funds to survive? That’s right, they try to sell themselves on eBay. eBay has already taken down the auction, saying that they don’t believe the seller is the “rightful owner” of the product for sale. The swim team admits that this was more of a publicity stunt than an actual attempt to sell the team, but it seems to fit a pattern of people using eBay auctions as a platform for publicity stunts.
