Can Lightning Strike Twice?

Every few months, someone in need of a technology story decides to write yet another profile of Martin Cooper and Arraycomm. Cooper, of course, is credited with inventing the first mobile phone 30 years ago, while an engineer at Motorola. Despite the fact that Arraycomm has been around for many, many years, people like to write stories about its technology – which is still only in the testing phase. The technology, when ready, will supposedly let carriers speed up the data rates they offer by a significant amount. The company is taking a Qualcomm-esque strategy, in that they hope to license their technology to carriers around the world to use. So, what does Martin Cooper think is going to drive demand for high speed wireless data? Digital photos.
