German Secret Service Tap Phones, Bill Victims

One of the more amusing computer bugs to show up lately is one from the German secret service. They’ve been (like all secret services tend to do) wiretapping various people’s phone lines. However, unlike normal secret service procedures, where you generally don’t want the tapped person to know they’re tapped, a software bug billed those who were tapped for the “service”. It certainly is a cost efficient way for the Germans to tap phones, but probably makes each tap a bit less valuable…
