Beijing Renews Support For Home-Grown Wireless Standard

Because there simply aren’t enough different wireless standards to go around, Chinese officials are making sure that their own version of 3G technology, TD-SCDMA, is still in the running. They’re expected to endorse the continued use of the technology. Analysts expect that wireless carriers in China will now have to build networks that support multiple standards.
