Function Over Form
A recent camera phone usability test between the SonyEricsson T68i and the Nokia 7650 had some interesting results. Testers were initially drawn to the cool design of the T68i, but once they used both devices, they preferred the Nokia. Despite its brick-like shape, users found the Nokia 7650 easier to use and sturdier. This isn’t really surprising given that the Nokia has a bigger screen and an integrated camera. The T68i is more of a phone with support for a camera. To some extent the comparison is unfair. But it points out that as devices get more complex, they can’t get much smaller.
