Sprint Loses Wireless Customers

SprintPCS has been the fastest growing wireless carrier for the last few years. Their rise was due to aggressive pricing, good marketing and lax credit requirements. Well that last issue has come back to haunt them as they announced that they are shutting off a number of delinquent accounts which will force them to post a net loss of subscribers for the quarter. All carriers are under tremendous pressure to show subscriber growth. SprtintPCS’s latest results are an indication that Wall Street needs to ease off on subscriber growth and focus on ARPU. Analysts already acknowlege that there is too much competition for too few customers. If that is true, new subscribers for one carrier are probably lost subscribers for another.
