Toshiba To Wirelessly Network Home Electronics

Toshiba plans to release a 802.11a based chips for home electronics and PCs. 802.11a has the additional bandwith for multimedia applications. So if you want to use equipment with the Toshiba chips and you have a wireless networks already, you’ll have to get a new access point. It might be smarter to offer dual-band chips that can work on existing 802.11b networks and support advanced capabilities of 802.11a as users upgrade.
