Putting Municipal Minutes Online

from the government-oversite dept

A few years back some guy had difficulty sifting through a ton of city council minutes that he was going through to prove that certain members were abusing their power. So, he did what any good techie would do, and wrote some software. Now that software is the basis of a new service that will let people easily go through public records of many different municipalities. While many of the documents are already public, the service has a monthly fee for unlimited access to cover the cost of using the service. It’s really being targeted at watchdog groups instead of individuals.
