We No Longer Can Afford To Care If You Can Hear Me Now

Apparently wireless carriers are drastically cutting back on their capital improvements expenditures meaning they may not be so quick to fix dead spots that the “can you hear me now?” guy finds. The carriers, of course, deny that there will be any coverage problems, but they also admit that they’ve drastically cut their budgets for capital improvements. On the whole, though, I think the article is crying wolf. Most carriers already have fairly decent coverage over most major cities. While there certainly are plenty of annoying dead spots, suggesting (as they do) that coverage will get worse doesn’t ring true. It’s just that improvements may come a bit slower.
