Why Does Nokia Hate Us So?
The idea of a GPRS/Wi-Fi combo card makes so much sense I’m surprised there aren’t more of them. Nokia makes the D311 and D211. The D311 is for the US market, but as usual Nokia sends us the second rate merchandise. The D311 only supports 14.4 kbps in GPRS mode, while the D211 supports 43.2 kbps. Why do they even bother making a US version?

Nokia D311/D211
Forgot to mention… the reason there are two versions is that US operates on different GSM frequency bands than Asia/Europe. I suppose they can make a tri- or even quad-band version that will work globally.

Is the D311 still available for purchase? Will it be available in markets other than Cingular?
