IM As A Business Tool

from the I-had-chow-mein dept

I’ve been using instant messaging software since 1997, and started using it as a business tool in 1998. It’s a very useful business tool, though not everyone sees it that way. A writer from PC Magazine talks about his conversion from a casual user of IM to someone who finds it a necessary business tool. However, he also points out some of the downsides of instant messaging, such as its intrusiveness, and the fact that people get lost in many conversations at once – sometimes sending non sequitors intended for other conversations.
