Check Your Laundry Online

from the this-sounds-mighty-familiar dept

I read the latest Reuters article about an internet connected washing machine designed for college students, so they can add detergent remotely, and receive an email when the laundry is done. My first thought was, “this sounds really familiar… I could have sworn I read the same article a year ago.” Thanks to the Techdirt archives, it turns out I had (though, I was off slightly on the date). The NY Times had an article we posted here a year and a half ago about the exact same thing. I guess there’s really no rush to have first mover advantage in the internet connected washing machine business.
