Hutchison 3G Shopping Spree

Last week Hutchison bought a drug store chain to help sell its 3G services. This week H3G is working on buying 3G assets in Finland and bolstering its position in Italy. Given all the 3G skepticism and delays, H3G’s aggressiveness makes it a renegade and we can respect that. We’d love to know what their end game is though. Since they are unencumbered by the same woes as estabished players, maybe they are forging ahead with their 3G plans so that they may sell the business to a recovered mm02, France Telecom, or Deutsche Telekom.
