Fourth Quarter To Boost Device Sales
In terms of sales, it’s been a tough year for wireless device players. But Gartner Dataquest see’s light at the end of the tunnel. It thinks Q4 sales of new phones with color screens and picture messaging support could close the year 5% ahead of 2001. I suspect that color phones will be big globally, but picture messaging will help Europe and Asia more than North America. Given our slower adoption of wireless technologies, picture messaging probably won’t drive North American sales till 2003.
