Picture Service Subscriber Numbers Grow Rapidly in Japan

I can argue all I want (and I do) that I don’t see why picture messaging services for mobile phones will take off, but apparently no one in Japan believes me. DoCoMo now says that the number of people subscribed to their i-shot picture phone service is now over 1 million. It only took them 2 and a half months to sign up that many people. Meanwhile, J-Phone, which offers a competing service, called sha-mail, has over 6 million subscribers. It would be interesting to see how exactly (and how often) these people use the services.
