Robotic Wedding Photographer

from the the-robots-are-taking-over dept

There are an awful lot of stories these days about more and more impressive robots. The latest is this article about a new robot wedding photographer. The robot moves around a room and is trained to identify people’s faces, and to snap pictures. It can be set up to be confined to a certain area, and to avoid bumping into people. The creators of the robot say that people tend to act more naturally and less self-consciously around a robotic photographer. Why am I reminded of the scene from the movie Brazil in the lobby of the Ministry of Information where the robots surround people and scan them and take pictures of them?
