Engage In A Copyright Debate

from the do-something dept

Dan Gillmor’s done a good job over the last few months encouraging folks to finally do something about the entertainment industry pushing consumers around. His latest column is more good stuff along those lines. He points out that the entertainment industry isn’t (as they like to say) really worried about the “end” of creativity. They’re worried about the end of a particular business model that has made them very wealthy. He also points out that the entertainment industry themselves are the real “pirates” here, since they’ve done everything possible not to let people use what they’ve done to “promote progress in science and the arts” – as is stated in the Constitution discussing copyright laws.
