What drives us to distraction?
General Motors is working with Wayne State University to study to what degree our emotions distract us from keeping our eyes on the road. Other studies that look at driver distraction typically focus on audio and visual distractions. This study will actually monitor brain activity in simulated stressful driving situations. The results of the work could influence in-car mobile phone use and telematics system design.
