Florida Papers Charging For Online Edition

from the seems-like-a-mistake dept

Four Florida newspapers are now charging people to access their content online. This, of course, means that next to no one will view their content online. Unless these newspapers offer something so compelling in terms of news that people can’t find elsewhere online, it’s unlikely they’ll find many takers. I’m not sure the local news in Fort Walton Beach is worth that much. But, maybe I’m underestimating people there. Local delivery of actual newspapers is different, since there is a very limited set of choices in having a paper newspaper delivered. But, online, most of the content you would find in your local newspaper will end up appearing elsewhere for free.
