Doctor Could Lose License For Prescribing Drugs Over The Internet

from the please-define- dept

A California doctor may lose his medical license for prescribing drugs to patients he met online. It seems that a Texas company would funnel prospective patients to this California doctor. He would discuss their conditions over the phone, and then prescribe drugs. He claims that the phone interviews constitute a “good faith examination”, but others vehemently disagree. Apparently, the medical board is expecting a large number of similar cases to end up in front of them in the near future.
