Satellite Roaming

Globalstar has developed a new wireless system that will allow the creation of hybrid wireless phones that can use both terrestrial cellular networks and satellite networks. Current satellite systems don’t work in dense urban area or indoors so mating them to cellular networks makes sense. Conversely, cellular providers could offer hybrid services for those customers who really need coverage everywhere. But watch out for those satellite roaming charges.
