Orange US: Bold Or Crazy?
Orange, the mobile arm of France Telecom, is beefing up its US presence, but not for the rumored US MVNO play (not yet at least). Unlike everyone else in the industry they are expanding their US venture group, Imagineering lab and R&D team. While there is no guarantee they will be anymore successful in developing new innovations or making investments that will ever pay-off, it’s refreshing to a see an upbeat telecom company. I guess they really do believe in their tagline, “The future’s bright.”
