Tell Me Again Why You Are Making A Device?

RIM has filed a second lawsuit against Good Technology. This time against Good’s planned wireless email device. I don’t understand why Good is even making a device. It seems to me that RIM is more a device company and Good is more of a software company. They compliment each other. And when you look at the number of devices RIM has sold to date, 355,000, it’s not exactly staggering. With more competition from Nokia, SonyEricsson, Handspring, Palm, HP/Compaq, devices are quickly becoming commodities.
