Cingular Launches In NYC
Based on the network sharing agreement it signed with Voicestream, Cingular has launched service in New York today. This let’s Cingular add NYC to its list of major metros served, but is unlikely to add a significant number of new subscribers given the intense competition in that market. Given the network sharing agreement for NYC, CA and NV, Voicestream might make an intereting acquisition for Cingular. But it’s probably too small and too expensive unless Deutsche Telekom gets really desperate.
