Do We Need A Government Tech Worker Exchange Program?

from the the-debate-is-on dept

A few months back we mentioned the idea of the government tech worker exchange where government IT workers and private IT workers would trade jobs for periods of time. The Washington Post is running an article with more details about how the program would work. The idea is that it would help federal workers get better training, while giving private workers a better idea of how the government works – which could help them in better preparing their proposals for government work. Of course, not everyone’s happy with the idea. Some are asking why we don’t just improve the training procedures for government IT workers.
