There have been any number of reports and articles recently about the decline in venture capital funding over the past year or so. Business 2.0 has put together a number of charts and graphs to paint a more visual representation of the venture capital situation. While funding has certainly declined, it doesn’t appear to be dead. There are still plenty of companies raising money (even many internet companies). There’s also a graph at the bottom of the page showing that executive base salaries have been creeping up over the past few years, as fewer are willing to accept big options packages instead of salary.
