This article claims that Qualcomm’s recent combination GSM/WCDMA test call is all about making wireless more fun for end-users, specifically for US customers. Which begs the question, how will US customers benefit from a technology making it easy to make 3G calls on a European technology and frequencies? Maybe because the tests are really about coming up with a way to get some market share in the GSM market.
