Data Won't Replicate Success of Voice
In all the talk about data services something tends to get lost in the shuffle. Data will never unseat voice as the killer wireless mobile application. Data services will be for a very long time value-add services that will add to revenues and possibly help reduce churn. I think this will be true to the degree that mobile operators let it be true. That is, if they don’t become creative in developing data services that people want then wireless will always be considered mostly a voice medium. If on the other hand they launch services that compliment and enhance voice, data can have partity with voice in the eyes of the end users.
