12-17 Year Olds Lead in US SMS

A telephone survey conducted by UPOC found thatyoung teens ages between 12 to 17 are heaviest users of text messaging in the US. The numbers drop as you look at 18 to 24-year-olds and 30 to 34-year olds. While obviously kids take to new technologies faster than adults, keep in mind that the kids are probably getting brand new phones that are 2-way capable, which is still a relatively new feature for most US handsets depending on carrier.
