In a bid to stay competitive with SprintPCS’s upcoming CDMA1x launch, Verizon has revamped their data price plans and expanded the data network’s availability. Verizon now offers an unlimited plan for $99/m plus lower priced time based and megabyte based plans in 29 additional markets. This is a great move in that it helps the entire data market. But as a specific ploy against SprintPCS, they will still have the second mover advantage. While this may put some pressure on Sprint’s pricing, it won’t steal any potential subscribers.
