Comdex Attendees' Personal Data Exhibited On The Web

from the silly-mistakes dept

InfoSec News writes “A security flaw in an online registration system for the world’s biggest computer trade shows exposed the personal data of some users. By slightly manipulating login data recently sent in a registration confirmation e-mail to some show attendees, users of the online system were able today to view the profiles and shopping carts of other users.” While you would think that a company that puts on such well known technology tradeshows would be a bit more tech savvy, they’re not. I know someone who used to do some contracting work for Key3, and from his descriptions, it sounded as though the company didn’t have the first clue about technology.
