Robotic Reporters
from the they-must-be-better-than-Geraldo dept
A Salon article about a guy at MIT who is working on a robotic reporter that can be sent into dangerous areas such as warzones to get more “real” stories that aren’t limited by military censors who won’t let human reporters go to certain locations. Of course, it’s not clear that the military won’t just blow up these robotic reporters, but I guess that’s a different issue. Somewhat randomly, the guy working on is the same guy who created the robotic DJ we were just talking about. Busy guy.

drone war
It only makes sense, really, that as afghanistan marks a dramataic step towards drone warfare, wherein unmanned planes and smartbombs do the bulk of the work, that this would encourage drone-reporting as well.
