Plug Into A Streetlamp
from the one-way-to-solve-a-problem dept
Some folks in Germany who are looking to encourage people to buy electric scooters are proposing to retrofit lamp posts as electronic charging stations, to make it easier for people to charge their scooters (and not get stuck in the middle of nowhere with a scooter to push around). Of course, it apparently takes 2 hours to charge the scooter enough to go 30 miles, so hopefully those lampposts will be near something else to do while your scooter is charging. I also wonder about maintenance costs. It seems that any sort of “untended” device is going to have a lot more problems.
