Smart Clothes

People have been talking about “smart clothing” for a long time now, and I imagine it’s still going to be quite a while before they become common. However, here’s an article about a company that is pushing its new line of smart clothes starting with a jacket/belt system for skiiers and snowboarders, that will allow them to call each other, by pulling a tag on the jacket and speaking into a shoulder microphone. Of course, you can do this pretty easily now with a ~$30 radio device, but I guess that’s not as cool (plus, as the huge black and blue mark on my side attests – falling on one of those radios while snowboarding with one in your pocket can hurt).
