Beyond Dead, Bought By Digital River

from the consolidation dept

Okay, this one is a bit more personal. A few years ago I (with some others who read and help out on Techdirt) worked at a company that competed with both Beyond and Digital River. Now, Beyond.com has filed for bankruptcy and sold to Digital River for $11 million (meanwhile, the company we worked for went out of business a while back and sold to no one). I wonder if people will still take Mark Breier seriously. It’s good to see that appearing half naked on CNBC is no guarantee of success. Apparently the secrets of the The 10 Second Internet Manager (written by Breier) are really about how to drive your company into the ground.
