Why Internet Taxes Are Bad

from the so-very-bad dept

An interview with Virginia Governor James Gilmore about why he thinks internet taxes are bad. He seems to believe strongly in his viewpoint, but his arguments aren’t that detailed. For the most part it seems to be: the internet is a new medium and we don’t want to hurt it. But, when asked if there’s ever going to be a time that it is okay to tax the internet, he says he doesn’t see it. For the most part, I agree that we shouldn’t tax the internet at all, but I would like to see the folks making that argument have better reasons.
