Dot Coms Collapsed, Internet More Useful Than Ever

from the what-paradox? dept

A good article pointing out that while the dot com bubble has clearly crashed the internet is more useful (if less noticeable) than ever before. The article summarizes a lot of studies and other evidence about how much more useful the internet has become to every day life. Part of the point is that as it’s become a part of our every day life it’s become less and less noticeable. People aren’t futzing around with this “new thing” called the internet – they’re just using what’s useful. That’s the point that people have been saying we need to reach for years: the point at which people in the movie theater stop looking at the projector in awe and start watching the movie.
