Girls, Gambling, And Games Key To 3G Success

from the forget-business-apps dept

There are tons of wireless applications companies out there. Many of them are focused on business applications, because who the hell funds consumer applications these days? However, with the way the carriers are acting these days, those applications are unlikely to ever see the backlit light of day on a mobile phone screen. Instead, a new study suggests wireless adoption will be focused on a younger generation using their mobile phones for fun things, such as games. While the article doesn’t mention it, it’s for exactly this reason that Virgin Mobile might make a huge splash in the US when they finally launch – and can focus their marketing efforts on the younger generation.
