Leaving Tech
from the fine,-go-away dept
The San Jose Merc has a set of stories about how many folks laid off from tech companies are leaving the technology world completely. They’re “soul searching” and trying to figure out what they really want to do with their lives. This is probably a good thing, though part of me wonders why they didn’t think about some of this stuff before they jumped into their tech jobs. The companion article talks about four people who have left the tech world for other pastures. It looks like most of them weren’t in tech for very long – which makes me wonder if most of them jumped in because it was the cool thing to do (or the way to “get rich quick”) rather than being something they really loved in the first place.
