Kids Get A Permanent Record In The UK
from the who's-naughty... dept
I remember, as kids, the joke was on whoever threatened to put some infraction on our “permanent record”. My friends and I figured out quickly enough that there wasn’t much of a permanent record to be afraid of. That might not be true in the UK any more, as they’ve decided to put together a big database of “bad kids” to watch out for. Seems a bit harsh. Of course, not everyone is thrilled with the idea, and privacy experts in particular think it’s a terrible idea.

There *is* a permanent record...
…it’s called an FBI record
I know; I have one… and no, I’ve never been convicted, indicted, charged, arrested (I have
had a few speeding tickets and a summons for
non-appearance, but that’s really the limit of
my illegal activities) or any of that. If you
don’t think *you* have an FBI record, you should really check it out… you probably do
