Microsoft Moves In On Weakened Competitors

from the embrace-and-extend dept

It’s good to see that the government has really done nothing to slow Microsoft down, because they’re now using the economic downturn to further destroy the competition in a variety of markets. The article talks about how they’re aggressively moving against the competition in servers, handheld devices, and their MSN portal. Of course, if I were in their shoes, I’d do the same thing. They have (almost) all the money in the world, and their competitors are struggling. Why not move in for the kill? The fact that it took monopolistic practices to get that money, and that they’ll use those same practices to hurt even more competition doesn’t seem to bother them any, because it doesn’t seem to bother the government much these days either.
