An interesting article about a Brazilian website that is trying to be the Salon.com of Brazil. Considering the financial troubles of Salon, that might not be such a smart move, but they think they’re doing okay, so far. It helps to be in a poorer market where they can keep the burn rate down. Of course, it’s really the content model that they copy (which is what makes Salon so good). For the business model, it sounds like they’re focusing on syndicating their content. They haven’t gone the subscription route so far.
