No More Cookies In Europe?

from the seems-a-bit-short-sighted dept

Apparently, folks in Europe are looking to outlaw the cookie. Now, I realize that it’s possible to abuse cookies, but on the whole, I’d say they’re pretty strongly net positive in terms of benefits for using the web. It would be difficult to do a lot of things that are easily done online today without using cookies. It sounds like someone needs to give a quick technology lesson to European legislators on exactly what a cookie is.
