Homestead Forced To Turn Over User Info

from the stupid-lawsuits dept

Someone set up a website on free (are they still free? are they still in business?) webhost Homestead accusing the administration of the University of Louisiana-Monroe of doing various bad things. The school sued to find out who posted the site, and a judge has said they need to reveal the info. I wonder if whoever it was even used real info (why would you?). Even more scary, however, is that the court said they need to provide the logs for the site to figure out who posted to it. That seems a bit questionable.
