Virgin Mobile/SprintPCS Deal Done

from the That's-what-you-said-last-time dept

Rumor has it that Virgin Mobile and SprintPCS have closed their Mobile Virtual Network Operator deal. Such a deal would allow Virgin to launch a mobile service without building out their own network and go after a specific target market – presumably one under served by other carriers, such as the youth or pre-paid markets. SprintPCS gets more customers on its network for a fraction of the typical customer acquisition costs.
